Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Alright, lets get started.

Suppose the first fraction is : \frac{a}{b}

Suppose the second fraction is : \frac{c}{d}

The sum of both fraction is given as : \frac{5}{6}

\frac{a}{b}+\frac{c}{d}=\frac{5}{6}    .......................equation (1)

The difference of both fraction is given as : \frac{1}{2}

\frac{a}{b}-\frac{c}{d}=\frac{1}{2}   .........................equation (2)

Adding equation (1) and equation (2)

\frac{c}{d} \ will  \ be \ cancelled

\frac{2a}{b}=\frac{5}{6}+\frac{1}{2}

making common denominator

\frac{2a}{b}=\frac{5}{6}+ \frac{3}{6}

\frac{2a}{b}=\frac{8}{6}

Hence,

\frac{a}{b}=\frac{2}{3}

Plugging the value of \frac{a}{b} in equation (1)

\frac{2}{3}+\frac{c}{d}=\frac{5}{6}

Subtracting \frac{2}{3} in both sides

\frac{c}{d}=\frac{5}{6}-\frac{2}{3}

\frac{c}{d}=\frac{1}{6}

Hence both fractions are \frac{2}{3} \ and \ \frac{1}{6}     ...................Answer

Hope it will help :)

Mazyrski [523]

Question:

Karina has recently begun kickboxing and purchased training equipment as modeled in the diagram below. The cylindrical base is 15 inches tall with a diameter of 22 inches.

Karina wants to fill the base so that it is 85% full. What is the volume of the base that she is filling? (Find 85% of the volume).

Answer:

Section = 4847.3205\ in^3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

h = 15in -- height

d = 22in -- diameter

Required

85% of the volume

First, calculate the radius

r = \frac{1}{2} * d

r = \frac{1}{2} * 22= 11in

The volume (V) is then calculated using:

V = \pi r^2h

V = 3.142* 11^2 * 15

V = 5702.73\ in^3

85% of the volume is:

Section = 85\% * V

Section = 85\% *  5702.73\ in^3

Section = 4847.3205\ in^3

Which of the following is most likely the next step in the series ?
GalinKa [24]

\huge \boxed{\mathfrak{Question} \downarrow}

  • Which of the following is most likely the next step in the series ?

\large \boxed{\mathfrak{Answer \: with \: Explanation} \downarrow}

  • The next series is most probably going to be <u>option </u><u>D.</u><u> </u>
  • We can see from the series that, figure 1 has 4 points marked on the circle from which they formed a rectangle.
  • In the next figure, there are 3 points marked which together when joined forms a triangle.
  • Then the next circle has 2 points marked on it which makes a straight line.
  • So, obviously the next figure/circle in the series should have only 1 point marked on it. This won't form anything as you can't join just 1 point with something.

The side of one square is equal to 3m and its diagonal is equal to the side of a second square. Find the diagonal of the second
navik [9.2K]

Answer:

6m

Step-by-step explanation:

the side of first square = 3 m

area of first square = 3^2= 9 m^2

let the side of second square = x m

since diagonal of first square = x m as per the question

in a square each angle is 90 degree

therefore by applying pythagorus theorem ,

diagonal ^2 = side^2 + side ^2

diagonal^2 = 3^2+3^2=9+9

DIAGONAL= square root of 18

diagonal= 3\sqrt{2} m = side of second square

therefore in second square ,

one angle is 90  degree , therefore by applying pythagorue theorem

diaqonal^2 = side ^2 + side ^2 = (3\sqrt{2})^2 + ( 3\sqrt{2})^2

diagonal ^2 = 18 + 18

diagonal = square root of 36

therefore diagonal of second square is 6m

hope it helps you... please mark me as the brainliest..
