You have established that c = -2 in question 4.

From the graph, the point g(3)=0 seems usable, so let's go with that.

g(3) = a·b³ - 2 = 0, so a = 2/b³

g(2) = -1 seems also plotted, so g(2) = a·b² - 2 = -1 ⇒ a = 1/b²

Solve for b gives:

2/b³ = 1/b² ⇒ (multiply by b³) 2 = b

From this you can find a=1/4

Note that this is only true if indeed g(3)=0 and g(2)=-1. I just assume that from the graph.

a plane averaged 400 mph on a trip going east, but only 280 mph on the return trip. The total flying time in both directions was
Liula [17]

Answer:

1400 miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed is the time rate of change of distance. It is the ratio of distance to time and is given by the equation:

Speed(S) = \frac{distance(d)}{time(t)}\\ S=\frac{d}{t}

plane averaged 400 mph on a trip going east, but only 280 mph on the return trip.

The time spent (t₁) in going east is given by:

S=\frac{d}{t_1}\\ t_1=\frac{d}{S} =\frac{d}{400mph}

The time spent (t₂) in going east is given by:

S=\frac{d}{t_2}\\ t_2=\frac{d}{S} =\frac{d}{280mph}

The total time (t) = t₁ + t₂

t = t₁ + t₂ = 8.5 hours

\frac{d}{400}+\frac{d}{280}  =8.5\\280d+400d=952000\\680d=952000\\d=1400miles\\

Therefore the one way distance is 1400 miles

Work out 247 as a percentage of 380.
Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

65%

Step-by-step explanation:

You can use the equation " is over of " to solve this. 247/380 * ?/100. After simplifying, you get 24700/380  which equals 65%.
