Okay, so lets look at the right triangle portion of the question. We can use the trigonometric ratios in order to find side a, which is opposite of the 32 degree angle.

We have three options, SOH CAH and TOA.

We will use SOH, or sine opposite over hypotenuse because we are trying to find the opposite side and we have the hypotenuse length.

So we set it up as Sin(32) = X/17. Multiple both sides by 17 to solve for X

You end up with X = 9 cm (when rounded)

Meaning that the measure of side a is about 9 cm

What are the x-intercepts of x^2– 3x = 4?
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

x^2-3x=4

x^2-3x-4=0

x^2-4x+x-4=0

x(x-4)+1(x-4)=0

(x+1)(x-4)=0

x=-1,4

x- intercepts in the point (-1,0) and (4,0)

The equation for the circle below is x ^2 + y^2 = 100. what is the length of the circles radius?
Ganezh [65]

Answer: 10 units.

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the circle in Center-radius form is:

(x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2

Where the center is (h,k) and "r" is the radius.

The equation of the circle given is:

x ^2 + y^2 = 100

You can observe that is written in Center-radius form.

Then, you can identify that:

r^2=100

Knowing this, you need to solve for "r" to find the lenght of the radius.

This is:

r=\sqrt{100}\\\\r=10

Therefore, the lenght of the radius is 10 units.
