Events in Development of Plants

Explanation:

The events in the development of plants is as follows:

1. Cyanobacteria begin to photosynthesize.

Cyanobacteria which are commonly called as Blue green algae are Prokaryotes.

They are aquatic and photosynthetic, it means, they live in the water, and can manufacture their own food.

2. Cyanobacteria become the chloroplast of plants.

Cyanobacteria have the endosymbiotic plastid. Eukaryotes or plants considered to have evolved from endosymbiotic cyanobacteria.

3. Bryophytes become the first land plants.

Bryophytes are the first land plants to be evolved from aquatic plants, specifically green algae.

4. Plants evolve to have vascular tissue to transport water.

During the evolution of plants from Bryophytes to Pteridophytes, Pteridophytic plants have vascular tissue i.e. xylem and phloem. Xylem helps in transport of water to various parts of the plants.

andre [41]

Answer:

This question lacks options, the options are:

A) The financial costs for the farmer would be lowered.

B) Federal agencies could initiate legal action against the farmer.

C) The farmer may be held responsible for increasing chemical pollution.

D) The farmer's expenses for pest control would increase due to an increase in bee population.

The answer is A.

Explanation:

Genetic engineering or modification is a process whereby the genome of an organism is manipulated in order to achieve a desirable trait in the organism. In this question, a farmer uses an approved genetically engineered corn plant, which produces pollen that can make its own toxins to repel pests.

Using this genetically modified corn plant means that the farmer no longer require the application of chemical pesticide to control the pests affecting his corn plant. The impact on the farmer of growing such a variety of corn is that the financial costs for the farmer would be lowered since he won't have to purchase chemical pesticides any longer.
