Answer:

12.252, 12.26, 12.387, 12.4

Step-by-step explanation:

These are the only numbers in a series that are always increasing.

The first series (0.13, 0.31, 0.04, 0.5) and fourth series (6.009, 6.015, 6.241, 6.2) all have an area where they decrease (0.04 and 6.2 respectively).

The second series of numbers is in decreasing order, rather than increasing order. This can not be the answer.

You can find the value of x using the trigonometric function of cosine.

cos x = adj/hyp
cos 49 = x/55
55(cos 49) = x
36.083 = x

Hope I am right :)

Why is -a² is always negative (a ≠ 0) and why is (-a)² is always positive?
hjlf
-a^2=(-1)\cdot a\cdot a

Regardless of the sign of a, we have a\cdot a=a^2\ge0 (never negative). But multiplying by -1 makes it negative.

On the other hand,

(-a)^2=((-1)\cdot a)^2=(-1)^2\cdot a^2=1\cdot a^2=a^2

which can never be negative for real a.

Are the graphs of 6
y = -2x + 4 and y = 6x - 4 parallel perpendicular or neither
timurjin [86]
1st slope is -1/3. 2nd slope is 6

slope is same in parallel lines so not parallel

slopes are negative reciprocals in perpendicular lines so they aren't perpendicular

they are called oblique

Why do we square the residuals when using the least-squares line method to find the line of best fit?
Mekhanik [1.2K]

We square the residuals when using the least-squares line method to find the line of best fit because we believe that huge negative residuals (i.e., points well below the line) are just as harmful as large positive residuals (i.e., points that are high above the line).

What do you mean by Residuals?

We treat both positive and negative disparities equally by squaring the residual values. We cannot discover a single straight line that concurrently minimizes all residuals. The average (squared) residual value is instead minimized.

We might also take the absolute values of the residuals rather than squaring them. Positive disparities are viewed as just as harmful as negative ones under both strategies.
