A cylindrical plastic container with a 6 ft diameter is placed on the bed of a truck to take water to remote plantings. If the c

ontainer is filled with water to a height of 3.4 feet, what are the gauge pressure and total weight of the water on the bed of the trunk? (ignore the weight of the plastic tank)

Answer:

Weight=6040.8lbf

pressure=1.7445PSI

Exp9lanation:

Hello! To solve this problem use the following steps

1. Find the volume occupied by the water using the equation to calculate the volume of a cylinder

D= diamater=6ft

h=height=3.4ft

V=volume

V=\frac{\pi }{4} d^2 h=\frac{\pi }{4} (6^2)(3.4)=96.13ft^3

2. The density of water at normal conditions is 62.4 lbm / ft ^ 3, remember that the mass is the product of the volume by density.

m=v(density)

m=(96.13)(62.4)=5998.68lbm=186.4slug

to find the weight you multiply by gravity (32.2ft / s ^ 2)

W=mg=186.4slug(32.4ft/S^2)=6040.8lbf

3. Manometric pressure is the pressure at the bottom of the tank due exclusively to water, it is equal to the product of gravity (32.2ft / s ^ 2) density and height

P=(32.2)(62.4)(3.4)=6831.55\frac{ lbm ft}{s^2 ft^2} =1.7445PSI

BARSIC [14]

Incomplete question; Full question read;

Type the correct answer in the box. Spell all words correctly. Stephen is a student who wants to test his knowledge of medical terminology. Which option could he use?

For medical terminology, ___________ can include a single word part on one side, with the meaning on the other side. Stephen can test himself or can enlist the help of someone else to hold them up to test him.

Answer:

Flashcard

Explanation:

It is interesting to note that a flashcard is an effective memory and teaching aid. It usually has a question on one side, and the other side contains the answer.

Hence, Stephen can build his knowledge of medical terminology by making use of a flashcard himself or can enlist the help of someone else to hold them up to test him.

Rainfall in tropical rainforests amounts to about 10 to 14 feet per year.
Savatey [412]

Answer:

The statement is true statement

Explanation:

Tropical rainforests are dry and green throughout the year. Even between the day and the night, temperatures don't change much. in tropical rainforests The average temperature varies from 70 to 85 °F (21 to 30 °C) .

Throughout tropical rainforests, the climate is quite wet, maintaining a humidity level of 77% to 88% year around which is a high value. The annual rainfall is between 80 and 400 inches (200 and 1000 cm), that is 6-33 feets, and it can rain heavily. It can drain as much as 5 cm (2 inches) in an hour.
