Answer:

...were due to single genes and followed simple inheritance patterns (dominant/recessive).

Explanation:

The traits Mendel studied were easy to track because the two possible outcomes were distinct and the trait itself was visible and trackable.  The fact that they followed simple inheritance patterns helped him when he was determining his ratios for different crosses because complex inheritance would've muddled his data.

SIMPLE STAINING OF BACTERIA AND YEAST
grin007 [14]
For staining flagella of bacteria use actively motile organisms 20 to 24 hours old, allow to diffuse in sterile water 20 to 30 minutes, transfer droplets of the suspension to clean slides and let evaporate without spreading. Then treat 2 to 4 minutes with the following mordant: tannic acid 10 or 20%, 50 cc.; ferric chloride 5%, 10 to 15 cc.; carbol fuchsin (Ziehl-Nielson), 5 cc.; hydrogen peroxide 3%, 6 to 8 cc. Wash and stain 2 to 3 minutes with a mixture of basic fuchsin, saturated alcoholic, 10 cc.; anilin oil (1 part) and 95% alcohol (3 parts) mixed, 5 cc.; distilled water, 30 cc.; acetic acid, 4%, 1 cc. By analyzing past episodes of the quiz show, you realize that you will probably need 600 points to defeat Kimberly. You also not
ra1l [238]

Answer:

100x − 200y = 600 and x + y = 12

Explanation:You can win the quiz show with 600 points. Remember that correct responses are worth 100 points and incorrect responses are worth -200 points. So, you need your total points from each correct response, x, minus your total points for each incorrect response, y, to equal 600:

100x − 200y = 600.

If you only respond to 12 questions, you need the total number of correct responses, x, plus the total number of incorrect responses, y, to equal 12:

x + y = 12.

Together, these two equations describe one way you can win.
