The other answer choices are incorrect because first: when comparing two text, one needs a detailed analysis for both text to be able to tell the similarities and differences. Second: A thesis statement shouldn't be obvious. It is to be in a way where the reader should figure it out. And finally: Your own opinion does matter but it is not important when it comes to supporting your evaluation of a text. Textual evidence is the one important when it comes to supporting what you say or do.

Have you ever head or seen of a ball pointed pen? We write with it, yes! But is that the only reason we have ball pointed pens?
Let me give you 2 examples that I believe are why they were invented!
The leaking. We all know that pens leak and dont have anything to cover the ink on the pen.The cap on the ball pointed pen's cap must be a way to prevent stains on ur furniture. ( I dunno please dont kill me)
Maybe invented to switch ink easily?????????????????????????????
(im running out of ideas)
For a regular pen you have to take out a part of the pen THEN take out the ink. But for a ball pointed pen you just take out the ink.
(I hope I helped)
