Answer:

African Americans were making progress toward equality.

Explanation:

After the Civil War, African Americans were granted the same rights and citizenship as White Americans. Many people, particularly in the South, disliked this. As African Americans began to make more progress towards equality, several racist and segregationist groups were established. This included the Ku Klux Klan. Their main purpose was to ensure that African Americans remained disadvantaged and underprivileged.

In North America, temperatures get warmer towards the north.<br> True or false
Ugo [173]

Answer: False

Explanation:

As one approaches the North Pole, temperatures get colder and this is why countries like Iceland and Sweden are so cold.

This is the same in North America. North America is already north of the Equator so it is closer to the North Pole. As one goes further north therefore, they would be be getting closer to the North Pole and temperatures will get colder.

This is why Canada is so cold and the northern areas of the United States experiences such harsh winters.

What led to a decline in the knights of labor's membership in 1893?
sergij07 [2.7K]
The Knights of labor was the largest and one of the most important American labor organizations of the 1880s. It was founded on the 28th day of December in year 1869 by Uriah Stephens. They promoted the producers ethic of republicanism and demanded the eight-hour day, rejected socialism and anarchism and encouraged the social and cultural uplift of the workingman. In 1880, the organization reached 28,000 members and even gained more members to 100,000 in 1884.  But in 1893, the knights of labor declines its membership because of public pressure, power vested in reformist factions, and employers' unwillingness to arbitrate.
