Rewrite each of the following statements in the form "∀ _____ x, _____." (a) All dinosaurs are extinct. ∀ x, . (b) Every real nu
jasenka [17]

Answer:

See below

Step-by-step explanation:

Essentially, we have to replace "quantifier words" like "All", "Every" by the universal quantifier ∀.

a) ∀ dinosaur x, x is extinct.

b) ∀ real number x, x is positive, negative, or zero.

c) ∀ irrational number x, x is not an integer.

d) ∀ logician x, x is not lazy.

e) ∀ integer x, x²≠ 2,147,581,953.

f)  ∀ real number x, x²≠ -1.

In a) and b) we replace the words without major changes. In the other statements, we modify the statement using negation. For example, "No irrational numbers are integers." is equivalent to "Every irrational number is not integer".

If f(x) = 1/9 x - 2, what is f-1 (x)
Snowcat [4.5K]

f(x) =  \frac{1}{9} x - 2 \\

f( - 1) =  \frac{1}{9} ( - 1) - 2 \\

f( - 1) =  -  \frac{1}{9}  - 2 \\

f( - 1) =  -  \frac{1}{9}  -  \frac{18}{9}  \\

f( - 1) =  -  \frac{19}{9}  \\

Determine the coordinates of the point p on the line y=-x+6 such that p is equidistant from the points a(10,-10) and o(0,0) (tha
Katena32 [7]

Solution,

Let P =  ( x, -x + 6) = (x, 6 - x)

We want to solve this

( Distance from P to (0,0) )^2  = (Distance from P to (10, -10) )^2

x^2 + (6 - x)^2  =  [ ( x - 10)^2 + ( 6 - x + 10)^2

x^2 + x^2 - 12x + 36  =   x^2 - 20x + 100  + x^2 - 32x + 256     simplify

-12x + 36  =  -52x + 356

40x =  320

x = 8

And y = -(8) + 6  =  -2

So...P  =  ( 8, -2)

In mathematics, an equation is an equation that expresses two equations by joining them with an equal sign =. Equations in other languages and the word their relatives can have slightly different meanings; for example, in French, an equation is defined as containing one or more variables, but in English, it is an equal sign.

A well-formed expression consisting of two combined equations is an equation, and a variable makes the equation true. The variable for which the equation must be solved is also called the unknown, and the value of the unknown that satisfies the equation is called the solution of the equation. There are two types of equations: identities and constraint equations. The ID applies to all values of the variable. Constraint equations apply only to specific values of variables

In ΔDEF, the measure of ∠F=90°, DE = 82 feet, and EF = 55 feet. Find the measure of ∠E to the nearest tenth of a degree.
Sedbober [7]

Answer:

< E = 42.1°

Step-by-step explanation:

Law of sines

82/sin 90 = 55/sin E

sin E = 55 sin 90 / 82

sin E = 0.67

E = sin^{-1} (0.67)

E = 42.1°

Is the point (1,5)a solution to the equation y=2x+3?
Flura [38]

Step-by-step explanation:

✰ \underline{ \underline{ \large{ \tt{ G \: I \: V \: E \: N  \: \: P \: O \: I \: N \: T}}}} :

  • ( 1 , 5 )

✰ \underline{ \underline{ \large{ \tt{G \: I \: V\: E \: N \:  \: E \: Q \: U \: A \: T \: I \: O \: N}}}} :

  • y = 2x + 3

✰ \underline{ \underline{ \large{ \tt{T \: O \:  \: F\:I \: N \: D}}} }:

  • Whether the point ( 1 , 5 ) , a solution to the equation y = 2x + 3 or not.

\underline{ \underline{ \large{  \tt{S \: O \: L\: U \: T \: I \: O \: N}}}} :

Assuming the the value of x and y as 1 and 5 respectively. Now , plug the values of x and y in the given equation & let's see whether the point ( 1 ,5 ) , solution to the equation y = 2x + 3 or not !

⟶ \large{ \tt{5 = 2 \times 1 + 3}}

⟶ \large{ \tt{5 = 2 + 3}}

⟶ \large{ \tt{5 = 5}}

Since we got 5 on R.H.S & L.H.S, So yeah! The point ( 1 , 5 ) is a solution to the equation y = 2x + 3.

Hope I helped ! ♡

Have a wonderful day / night ! ツ
