Answer:

1.120.68 cubic units

2.128 square units

3.192 square units

Step-by-step explanation:

First find the height of the pyramid.

Apply Pythagorean relationship where the base is a square, find the hypotenuse

a²+b²=c²---------apply this on the square base to find the length of the diagonal then divide by 2 to get the length from one square base to the center of the pyramid. With this length and the slant height, you can find the height of the pyramid.

8²+8²=c²

64+64=c²

128=c²

√128=c

11.31=c

c/2= 5.7

Finding height of the pyramid

8²-5.7²=h²

64-32=h²

32=h²

√32=h

5.7=h

Finding volume of the pyramid

v=a²*h/3 where a is the length of the edges=8 and h is the height of the pyramid= 5.7

v=8²* 5.7/3

v=64*1.889 =120.68 cubic units

2.

Lateral area of the pyramid is calculated by finding the product of the slant height of the pyramid and half the perimeter of the base.

L.S.A=1/2p*l where p is perimeter of the base and l is the slant height

slant height =8

Perimeter of the base= 8*4 =32

Half the perimeter of the base= 32/2=16

Lateral area= 16*8=128 square units

3. The total surface area of the pyramid is given by;

T.S.A=1/2p*l +B where B is area of the base

Area of the base=8*8=64

Lateral area= 128

T.S.A= 128+64 =192 square units

Stefanie bought a package of pencils for $1.75 and some erasers that cost $0.25 each. She paid a total of $4.25 for these items,
pentagon [3]

Firstly, we’d have to find the total price paid for erasers by subtracting the overall price from the amount she paid in pencils.

$4.25 - $1.75 = $2.50

From there, we can use the amount per eraser to find out how many erasers she bought. Since she spent $2.50 in erasers, we can multiply to find our missing number.

$0.25 x 10 = $2.50

Therefore, Stefanie bought 10 erasers.

Hope this helps! :)

Consider the following system of equations. x+y=11 and 2x - 3y=-3. Which equation can be added to the system so that the solutio
kondaur [170]

Answer:

B) -2x+2y=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

x+y=11 ----> equation A

2x-3y=-3 ----> equation B

Solve the system by graphing

Remember that the solution of the system of equations is the intersection point both graphs

using a graphing tool

The solution is the point (6,5)

see the attached figure

Remember that

If a equation is added to the system so that the solution does not change, then the solution of the system must be a solution of the equation added

Verify each case

The solution of the system is (6,5)

substitute the value of x and the value of y in each equation

case A) x-y=2

6-5=2

1=2 ----> is not true

therefore

This equation can't be added to the system

case B) -2x+2y=-2

-2(6)+2(5)=-2

-12+10=-2

-2=-2 ----> is true

therefore

This equation can be added to the system

case C) 3x+y=20

3(6)+5=20

18+5=20

23=20 ----> is not true

therefore

This equation can't be added to the system

case D) x+2y=18

5+2(6)=18

5+12=18

17=18 ----> is not true

therefore

This equation can't be added to the system
