The history of biology demonstrates that scientific new knowledge takes over the already established knowledge and can change over time because people's perspective and vision changes with time. New technologies evolve with time. Pre-defined previous ideas are used to expand new ideas in many areas of science. For example- biological sciences have emerged from traditions of medicine and natural history reaching back to Ayurveda, Ancient Egyptian medicine etc to new technologies that prevail today.

Which of the following is a characteristic of a plant kingdom? A.all are single celled b.make their own food c.cell nucleus is a
lorasvet [3.4K]

The correct answer is - b. make their own food.

The plants are differing from most of the other organisms in that that they produce their own food. In order to produce their own food, the plants use the sunlight, carbon dioxide, water, and nutrients from the soil. They manage to perform a process called photosynthesis in which they manage to turn those things into sugars, thus create their own food. That makes the plants producers, which puts them on the bottom of the food chain, meaning they are the basis and most important part of the ecosystems in which they exist.

You are treating a short of breath 9-year-old male with a history of asthma. on scene he presents in severe respiratory distress
Temka [501]
The answer to this question would be: Heart rate 88

Respiratory distress in asthma patient can be dangerous. It won't only affect the respiratory system but also cardiovascular system. In asthma, the expiration phase is longer and harder because of the obstruction. This will cause lower amount of oxygen gain and lower amount of carbon dioxide dumped. The right ventricle also needs extra force since the lungs pressure is increased. The heart rate should be increased in this case to compensate the lower oxygen level.

Heart rate 88 is normal, not increased. This is a sign that the heart is already tired and might go arrest.

vovikov84 [41]

Answer: True

Explanation: The Achilles tendon is the largest and the strongest tendon in the body. When the calf muscles flex, the Achilles tendon pulls on the heel. This allows us to stand on our toes when walking, running, or jumping.
