Length (L): L

width (w): (2/3)L

Perimeter (P) = 2L + 2w

               290 = 2(L) + 2(2/3)(L)

               870 = 6L + 4L

               870 = 10L

                87 = L

width (w): (2/3)L   = (2/3)(87)   = 2(29)   = 58

Answer: width = 58 ft, length = 87 ft

Vladimir79 [104]
Answer =

E = 1/2 = 0.500
__________________________________________________

Now you need to rearrange the problem ( common sense :)  :

1/2 * e - (1/4 ) = 0    |   Now we need to Simplify  1/4  :   1/2 * e  - 1/4 = 0
__________________________________________________

Now we need to simplify 1/2 : 1/2 * e - 1/4 = 0
__________________________________________________

What are there denominators??? = 2 and 4  ,,,,,, DUH . LOL
The lease common multiple is 4.

Now divide 1/2 by e   which is 1/2 = 0.500

i hope this helps you a lot

Two lines have equations y + m1x + c1 and y + m2x +c2, m1m2 = -1. Prove that the lines are perpendicular.
alexdok [17]
Y=mx+b
m=slope

perpendicular lines have slopes that multiply to get -1

the slopes are

for y=m_1x+c_1 and y=m_2x+c_2, the slope are m_1 \space\ and \space\ m_2
since their product is -1, the lines are perpendicular
