Answer:

The income before taxes for Discounted Supplies Inc is calculated as follows:

Sales - $100,000

less Variable cost - $24,500

less Fixed cost: Controllable & Uncontrollable & Unallocated - $25,500

less Operating cost - $16,400

Net Income = $33,600

Explanation:

The net income is the income before taxes. It is arrived at after deducting variable and fixed costs of sales, including operating cost.

It is based on this figure that income taxes will be levied.

The net income or income before taxes is regarded as the bottomline profit or returns or earnings that is distributable to stakeholders, including the government for taxation and the shareholders in form of dividends.

It shows the result of the efforts in running a business. A positive income before taxes shows that costs are being efficiently managed. It leaves a compensation for investors and the economy as a whole.

What is Management Style?

There are many management styles and it depends on the mind mindset off employer or manager, a manager with theory X assumes that the employees does not like to work and there needs to be directed, they can only be motivated with salary. While the manager theory Y assumes that the employees like their job and are responsible for the work they do, they need some guidance but are responsible for the work, they can be motivated with appraisals, appreciations and more rewards.

Alachi as a manager is a theory X manager and assumes that the workers prefers to be directed and therefore he would delegate the task and provide the complete guidance to them.

OLEGan [10]

Answer: Experiencing declining production capacity because net investment is negative

Explanation:

Investment in a country includes capital Expenditure such as buildings, roads, inventory and etcetera which contribute to the production capacity of the Nation.

Net Investment is calculated by subtracting Depreciation from the Gross Private Domestic Investment. When Net Investment is negative, it means that the Production capacity of the nation is weakened and declining because the Investment available is not able to produce as much.

In the country described, the Net Investment is,

= Gross Private Domestic Investment - Consumption of Fixed Capital (Depreciation)

= 46 - 52

= -$6 billion

The Net Investment for this Economy is negative showing a declining production capacity.
