When you are in a boat ride and it happens that you are caught in severe storm condition, you should remain calm and put on your life jacket. Be vigilant by keeping a sharp lookout for other boats, debris, shoals, or stumps.

Moreover, if you are trapped in a house or building during severe storm, better stay away from windows and close all the doors, as well as the curtains and blinds. Go to the basement that is windowless when the winds are high and after the highest winds have passed, expect a high water typically comes and rise, this time go to the highest level of the house or building to be safer from the flood.

In C3 plants the conservation of water promotes _____.
bija089 [108]

Answer:

The correct answer is d. photorespiration

Explanation:

In the C3 plant, the Rubisco enzyme is important that fix CO2 into organic molecule by binding with CO2. Rubisco can also bind to oxygen when the oxygen concentration increases in cells which leads to the loss of fixed CO2  and waste of energy which is called photorespiration.

So when stomata are open CO2 comes in and O2 goes out of the cell which maintains the high CO2 concentration in the cell but during hot days C3 plants close stomata to prevent water loss.

So closing of stomata decrease the intake of CO2 and increase the oxygen concentration inside the cell. So in increased temperature and high oxygen concentration, the rubisco enzymes bind to O2 and promote photorespiration.

How can a calendar year help us to understand the magnitude of geologic time
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

The civil year allows us to have an idea of how long our planet has existed.

Explanation:

Calendar year is the 12-month period that corresponds to 365 days of the year, counting from 1 January to 31 December. Geological time, in turn, refers to the didactic organization of the evolution of planet Earth and the forms of life that inhabit or inhabited it. It is an instrument used by Earth's geologists and scientists to analyze and chronologically categorize (through the concept of a civil year) the natural evolution of the world in which we live, in order to better understand its past.

The civil year allows geological time to expose the number of years and days that planet Earth (and its forms of life) are in existence.
