Julie will because if you divide 19 and 6 you get 3.16666666666 etc and when you divide 12 by 4 you get 3 so that means that Julie will get $1000 before Mary does.                 Not the best wording but it worked for me ;)

Answer:

Mary would have a rise of 12 and a run of 4, making her slope, or rate of change, $3 a day.

Julie would have a rise of 19 and a slope of 6, making her slope, or rate of change, $3.17 a day.

Since Julie is raising money at a faster rate, she would get to the goal of $1000 first.

Step-by-step explanation:

Mary is raising $12 every 4day and Julie is raising $19 every 6 days.The money raised by Mary and Julie if plotted on a graph will be a linear equation.

The rise is the change in y coordinate and run is change is x coordinate .For Mary Rise is $12 and run is 4 So slope = Rise ÷Run = 12÷4= 3.

For Julie the rise is $19 and run is $19 .Slope = Rise ÷Run =19÷6=3.166=3.17

As rate of change for Julie is more so  Julie will get the goal of raising $1000 first.

Find the arc length of the partial circle..
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

The arc length of the partial circle is 6\pi\ units

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The circumference of a circle is equal to

C=2\pi r

In this problem we have a 3/4 of a circle

so

the circumference is equal to

C=(\frac{3}{4})2\pi r

C=\frac{3}{2}\pi r

we have

r=4\ units

substitute

C=\frac{3}{2}\pi (4)

C=6\pi\ units

2x+y=3<br>x-y= 1<br><br>solve the equation
svetlana [45]

Answer:

x = 4/3

y = 1/3

Step-by-step explanation:

System of equations! This is set up really well to make the second equation equal x then substitute.

x - y = 1

x = 1 + y

and then our substitution:

2 (1+y) + y = 3

and solve:

2 + 2y + y = 3

3y + 2 = 3

3y = 1

y = 1/3

And now we can substitute that value into one of our equations:

x - (1/3) = 1

x = 4/3

Next we should check by substituting these values into both of our equations:

2 (4/3) + (1/3) = 3

9 / 3 does equal 3 !

(4/3) - (1/3) does equal 1 !

Therefore, x = 4/3 , and y = 1/3
