Then isolate the variable by adding 3 to both sides.

This leaves you with 2m-3m = 3 9/4

This can simplify into -m = 5 1/4 or 21/4

Multiply by -1 to keep the variable positive

The final answer is m = -21/4 (or -5 1/4, your choice)
