Answer:

12.04

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello

Pythagoras' theorem states that in every right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the side lengths

(side)^{2} +(side)^{2} =(hypotenuse)^{2}

Step 1

isolate

in this case we know a side, and the hypotenuse,so we must isolate a side,

(side)^{2} +(side)^{2} =(hypotenuse)^{2}\\(side)^{2}  =(hypotenuse)^{2}-(side)^{2}\\side=\sqrt{(hypotenuse)^{2}-(side)^{2}

if you are finding a distance, take only the positive root, talking about negative distances makes no sense

Step 2

put the values into the equation

let\\side=12\\hypotenuse=17 \\side_{2}=? \\ \\side_{2}=\sqrt{(hypotenuse)^{2}-(side)^{2}}\\ \\side_{2}=\sqrt{(17)^{2}-(12)^{2}}\\side_{2}=\sqrt{289-144}\\side_{2}=\sqrt{145} \\side_{2}=12.04

side= 12.04 units

For this problem, you will need to use the pythagorean theorem which is a^{2} +  b^{2} =  c^{2}
So a and b are usually the sides that are NOT the hypotenuse, or in this case the long side that is not at a 90 degree angle.
You will start by plugging 12 into with (a) or (b) but not both. And then you will plug 17 in for (c). Make sure you square these values to solve the equation. Once you do that, it is basic algebra from there to solve for the missing variable. If you want to check to see if your answer is correct, then plug all the side numbers back into the equation. Also your answer should be between 12 and 17, or possibly one of those numbers.

nydimaria [60]

Answer:

f(x)=19x - 7x

Step-by-step explanation:

I am a high schooler as well and was working on this problem as well. I can't say I'm right or wrong because I didn't have a grade on it yet. I believe the answer is f(x)=19x - 7x. The Lines don't have a given value, so I chose the values 12 for Line A and 7 for Line B. I believe the answer is this because Line A would produce 12 bags each day and 3 of them would not be useable, leaving you with 9. Line B would produce 7 and 4 of them would be unusable, leaving you with 3. Line A produces 9 per day while Line B produces 3, and that would check off the part that says, "Line A produces 3 times as many bags as Line B each day." Throughout the problem, it talks about how many bags can each line produces each day, and the sentence talks about that specifically as well. So, the function must be about the amount of bags produced per day. x would represent the number of days that the Lines have been working. 19 is the total amount of bags that was produced in a day. 7 represents the total amount of bags that are unusable. Though I may be wrong, I hope this might help you come to a conculsion of your own.

Name non equivalent fractions
garri49 [273]
Nonequivalent fractions are not equal to each other. To determine if two fractions are nonequivalent, you must also cross multiply. For example, to determine if 1/3 and 2/5 are equivalent, you must multiply 1 times 5, which equals 5, and 3 times 2, which equals 6.
