The main function of environmental policy is to <u>reduce human impact on the environment (B). </u>

<u> </u>

<h3>Further explanation </h3>

Humans impact the environment in so many ways such as overpopulation, overfishing, pollution, and deforestation. This condition leads to many other problems: poor air and water quality, climate change, and soil erosion. Increasing population means increasing demand for consumption that may destroy the natural resources and environment.

The government or an organization creates environmental policies to regulate environmental issues and to reduce human impact on the environment. According to McCormick environmental policy is “any action deliberately taken to manage human activities to prevent, reduce, or mitigate harmful effects on nature and natural resources, and ensuring that man-made changes to the environment do not have harmful effects on humans or the environment.”

The policy regulates the use of resources and to reduce pollution to promote human welfare and protect natural resources. Some example of environmental policy, governments forbade the use of hazardous substances in agriculture or apply maximum emission levels for the industry to ensure minimum environmental quality.

Answering the question, the main function of environmental policy is to reduce human impact on the environment. The correct answer is B

Environmental policy refers to the commitment of the government or concerned organization to the laws and regulations involving environmental issues. Most often, most of the environmental issues can be waste management, water pollution, waste management and many more.

<h2>Further Explanation</h2>

To fully understand the word "environmental policy", we can see that it is made up of two basic terms, environment and policy.

Environment implies the community of living organisms also called the physical ecosystem, which can be viewed from the social angle such as quality of health. Policy, on the other hand, refers to principles that can be put in place by the government or concerned organization.

Therefore, environmental policy is meant to addresses some of the problems in the environment that are caused by human activities.

In the United States, for instance, the environmental protection agency was established to create laws that protect the health of individuals and the environment. This independent agency was set up to control some of the activities of humans that negatively affect the environment.

The EPA implements different programs to control pollution and sets standards for how hazardous chemicals and waste are handled by industries.
