George Washington was the first president the United States had. In order to build the Federal government of the new republic, president George Washington had to take two steps:

1. He decided to set up a Federal court.
2. He made the cabinet where four trusted advisors (Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Edmund Randolph and Henry Knox) would help and advise him.
