If you put and label the three points in a line, you will see that RS + ST = RT.

Then you only need to substitue with the expressions given for RS and ST to find RT.

RT = x +1 + 2x - 2 = 3x - 1

Also, RT = 5x - 5

Then, 3x - 1 = 5x - 5

5x - 3x = 5 - 1

2x = 4

x = 4/2 = 2

NOw substitute x in any of the expressions for RT:

RT = 5x - 5 = 5(2) - 5 = 10 - 5 = 5

Answer: RT = 5

Using f(x) = 8x + 5 and g(x) = 7x - 2, find:g(f(6))
iren2701 [21]

Answer:

369

Step-by-step explanation:

g(f(x)) simply means to put the whole expression of function f(x) into the place of "x" in g(x).

and to find the functional value for a specific x we just need to calculate functional value for f(x) and use that result as input for g(x).

f(6) = 8×6 + 5 = 48 + 5 = 53

and now

g(53) = 7×53 - 2 = 371 - 2 = 369

to check we do the general functional substitution :

g(f(x)) = 7×(8x+5) - 2 = 56x + 35 - 2 = 56x + 33

g(f(6)) = 56×6 + 33 = 336 + 33 = 369

15 POINTS!!! (16*4^3*8^8)^5 Find the answer and show work how you got it
777dan777 [17]

Answer:

2^170

Step-by-step explanation:

(16 x 4^3 x 8^8)^ 5

- start by converting it all to a common base

(2^4 x 2^3 x 2^24)^5

- calculate the product, by adding all the powers

(2^34)^5

= 2^170
