The correct answer is C) Sugar was to Latin America what cotton was to the American South.

All of the following describe the historical development of sugar within the Latin American system of slavery EXCEPT Sugar was to Latin America what cotton was to the American South.

Among the most important raw materials in South America, sugar was exploited by the European conquerors and exported to the Old Continent. Of course, precious minerals such as gold and silver were the most important natural resources for the Europeans, but sugar became a good source of income for them. Christopher Columbus was the one who brought Sugar Cane to Spain from the Canary Islands to the Dominican Republic. From, then, sugar became the king of trade.

Which statement best describes a similarity between the political systems in ancient Greece and the Roman Republic?
GrogVix [38]
Ancient Greece and Rome had very similar government systems. One of the reasons why these empires are remembered is because they strayed away from letting one individual rule. Rather, they relied on the citizens of the empire to have some control over who would run their empire.

For example, in Ancient Rome the two consuls were elected by a group of Roman citizens. These consuls were responsible for running the government and the military. In Ancient Greece, the origins of a democracy are found. In Athens, their was a system where Greek citizens got to directly vote on laws and individuals within the government. This is known as a direct democracy. This was the first of it's kind and provided a model for countries like the United States.

Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

On August 28, 1955, while visiting family in Money, Mississippi, 14-year-old Emmett Till, an African American from Chicago, is brutally murdered for allegedly flirting with a white woman four days earlier.

His assailants—the white woman’s husband and her brother—made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton-gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie River and ordered him to take off his clothes. The two men then beat him nearly to death, gouged out his eye, shot him in the head and then threw his body, tied to the cotton-gin fan with barbed wire, into the river.
