"Between 1864 and 1896, ten western territories became states" is the best example that states the positive effect of railroads on settlement in the west.

Option: D

Explanation:

Establishment of first transcontinental railroad took place in 1869 which resulted from series of events. This development lead to expansion of west settlement as travelling was no more hurdle and population was no more biased. So they decided that land in west must be part of United States. Therefore when civil war was cooled down, in late 1880's and 1890's many former territories became states like North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Nevada. These were initiated to follow union and acquire statehood. While railroad had huge positive effect on economy as it enhanced the trade between east and west of USA which ultimately lead development of states too.

A carton of milk contains 128 ounces. Sara's son drinks 4 ounces of milk at each meal. How many 4-ounce servings will one carton
scZoUnD [109]

Answer:

The carton will serve for 32 meals

Explanation:

We are given that a carton of milk contains 128 ounces of milk.

Sara's son consumes milk at a rate of 4 ounces per meal.

To get the number of meals that Sara's son will eat with the carton of milk, we simply divide the quantity of milk per carton, by the quantity that is consumed per meal.

This will be 128/4 = 32 meals

The carton will serve for 32 meals

What does the Berlin and Germany look like during the cold war? 1)Split in half 2)Taken over by the UUSR 3)Taken over by the US
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

1)Split in half

Explanation:

After the end of the world war II, West Berlin was occupied by the Allies: the United States, Britain and France, while East Berlin was occupied by the Soviet Union.

This situation lasted for almost 5 years, and there were many tensions. The height of the tension was the Berlin blockaed incident, when the Soviet Union tried to blockade supplies to West Berlin. The Soviet Union was able to do so because it controlled all the territory that surrounded the Soviet Union, including East Berlin itself.

The allies had to supply West Berlin by air, in what is known as the Berlin Airflit. This was a success and kept West Berlin under allied control.

Berlin would remain split in half until 1989.
