Chemistry

Answer:

28.17 %

Explanation:

In the question we are required to determine the percent by mass of nitrogen in (NH₄)₃PO₄.

  • To calculate the percent by mass of an element in a compound we use the formula;
  • % by mass =(Mass of the element÷ Relative formula mass of the compound)100

In this case;

  • Atomic mass of nitrogen is 14.0 g/mol

But; There are three nitrogen atoms in (NH₄)₃PO₄.

Therefore; Mass of nitrogen in (NH₄)₃PO₄ = 14.0 × 3

                                                                     = 42 g

The relative formula mass of (NH₄)₃PO₄ = 149.0867 g/mol

Thus;

% by mass of N = (42 g ÷ 149.0867 g/mo)× 100%

                          = 28.17 %

Therefore, the % by mass of N is (NH₄)₃PO₄ is 28.17%

The reaction below is allowed to come to equilibrium. After equilibrium is reached, the temperature of the container is raised b
strojnjashka [21]

Answer: c. The rate of the forward reaction will increase.

Explanation:

Any change in the equilibrium is studied on the basis of Le-Chatelier's principle.

This principle states that if there is any change in the variables of the reaction, the equilibrium will shift in the direction to minimize the effect.

For the given equation:

2NH_3(g)\rightleftharpoons N_2(g)+3H_2(g)  \Delta H=+ve

This is a type of Endothermic reaction because heat is absorbed in the reaction.

When the temperature is increased, according to the Le-Chatlier's principle, the equilibrium will shift in the direction where decrease in temperature occurs. As, this is an endothermic reaction, forward reaction will decrease the temperature. Hence, the equilibrium will shift in the right or forward direction.

What factor is most responsible for the fact that water is a liquid rather than a gas at room temperature?
ivann1987 [24]
The factor that is most responsible for the fact that water is a liquid rather than gas at room temperature is the hydrogen bonding. The hydrogen bonding keeps the water molecules bonded together, otherwise it would have been in a gaseous state. I hope the answer helps you.

What is the solar mass of CHCI3?
4vir4ik [10]

Molar mass of CHCl3 is

sum of atomic mass of all the atoms in it.

= C + H + 3 Cl

= 12.0107 + 1.008 + 3 (35.453) = 2.0107 + 1.008 +   106.359

= 119.38 g/mol

Molar mass of CHCl3 is 119.38 g/mol
