The reaction N2 + H2 —-> NH3, if 2.00 grams of hydrogen reacts: how many grams of ammonia are

Chemistry

Answer:

mass NH3 = 11.264 g

mass N2 = 9.264 g

Explanation:

balanced reaction:

  • N2 + 3H2 → 2NH3

∴ mass H2 = 2.00 g

∴ molar mass H2 = 2.016 g/mol

∴ molar mass N2 = 28.0134 g/mol

∴ molar mass NH3 = 17.031 g/mol

⇒ mol H2 = (2.00 g)*(mol/2.016 g) = 0.992 mol

⇒ mol NH3 = (0.992 mol H2)*(2 mol NH3/3 mol H2) = 0.6614 mol

⇒ mass NH3 = (0.6614 mol)*(17.031 g/mol) = 11.264 g

⇒ mol N2 = (0.6614 mol NH3)*(mol N2/2 mol NH3) = 0.3307 mol

⇒ mass N2 = (0.3307 mol)*(28.0134 g/mol) = 9.264 g

10 points !! Which can happen during a physical change?
Sveta_85 [38]
I think that the answer is A because if you think about water for an example. When water turns into ice, it's still technically water, just the molecules are frozen. The water is physically changed. It could also see why you think it is B but I don't think so completely. It doesn't really make sense to me. So I'd choose A. It's definitely not C or D.

The molar mass of argon is 40 g/mol. what is the molar mass of a gas if it effuses at 0.91 times the speed of argon gas?
Gemiola [76]
To determine the molar mass of the unknown gas, we use Graham's Law of Effusion where it relates the effusion rates of two gases with their molar masses. It is expressed as r1/r2 = √M2/M1. We calculate as follows:
Let 1 = argon gas      2 = unknown gas
r2 = 0.91r1r1/r2 = 1/0.91
1/0.91 = √M2/M1 = √M2/40M2 = 48.30 g/mol

2. How does dilation of the blood vessels of the skin reduce the temperature of the skin surface?
KATRIN_1 [288]

Answer:

this is what i know

Explanation:

Blood vessels have the ability to dilate and constrict to control body temperatre. When body temperature is too low, the tiny blood vessels near the surface of the skin (capillaries) constrict (vasoconscriction). This decreases the blood flow near the surface of the skin so less heat is lost through radiation.
