Light emitted by element X passes through a diffraction grating that has 1200 slits/mm. The interference pattern is observed on

a screen 75.0 cm behind the grating. First-order maxima are observed at distances of 56.2 cm, 65.9 cm, and 93.5 cm from the central maximum. What are the wavelengths of light emitted by element X?

Answer:

Explanation:

Width of slit = 10⁻³ / 1200

d  = 8.3 x 10⁻⁷ m

First order maxima will be observed at

x = λD/d

D = 75 cm = 75 x 10⁻² m

56.2 x 10⁻² = λ₁D/d

= λ₁ x 75 x 10⁻² / 8.3 x 10⁻⁷

λ₁ = 56.2 x 8.3 x 10⁻⁷ / 75

= 6.219 x  10⁻⁷ m

= 6219 A

Similarly

λ₂ = 65.9 x 8.3 x 10⁻⁷ / 75

= 7293 A

λ₃ =  93.5 x 8.3 x 10⁻⁷ / 75

= 10347 A

zhenek [66]

Answer:

a has a faster period

Explanation:

Period only depends on the length, irrelevant to the mass.

a has a shorter length, so has a small period, or faster.

Suppose a certain battery has an internal emf of 9.00 V but the potential difference across its terminals is only 80.0 % of that
Rudiy27

Answer:

1140.48\times 10^{-6}J

Explanation:

We have given that the battery has an internal emf of 9 volt

So E = 9 volt

Capacitance C=44\mu F=44\times 10^{-6}F

It is given that on the terminal voltage is only 80% of potential difference

So V = 0.8×9 = 7.2 volt

We know that energy stored in the capacitor is given by

E=\frac{1}{2}CV^2=\frac{1}{2}\times 44\times 10^{-6}\times 7.2^2=1140.48\times 10^{-6}J

A partially filled bag of cement with mass of 16 kg falls 40 m into a river from a bridge. What is its speed just before it hits
Verizon [17]

Answer:

28 metres

Explanation:

when the bag is about to hit the ground

potential energy = kinetic energy

mgh = \frac{1}{2}mv^{2}

where m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity

v = speed

when you simplify the above equation and make v subject of the formular we have

v=\sqrt{2gh}

where g = 9.8m/s

h = 40

v=\sqrt{2\times 9.8\times 40}=28m

In order to create an electromagnet, you would ?
Yakvenalex [24]
In order to create an electromagnet, you would wrap an insulated wire around a metal with ferromagnetic properties and apply electric current. Magnetic fields are made when entirely the electrons are turning in the same direction either as a natural phenomenon, in an artificially created magnet or when they are persuaded to do so by an electromagnetic field.
