Answer:

It is D (20 N in direction of boy’s push; 4 m/s/s)

Explanation:

F=ma

F: force

m: mass

a: acceleration

"5 kg box" means the box was 5 kg in mass

"force of 25 N and 5 N frictional force" means the box had force of 25 N and opposite force of 5 N. Let's say the box moved to right with 25 N. Think as integers. 25 to the right means positive. On a number line, the right side has positive numbers while left side has negative numbers. So since it moved to the RIGHT it means positive 25. But there was a frictional force of 5 to the opposite side. If you add 25 and -5, you will get 20. 25+(-5) is same as 25-5. So now you have 20 N, but we don't know the acceleration, so leave that as a variable. Then plug into the equation.

F=ma

20=5a

divide both sides by 5

4=a

the acceleration of the box was 4m/s/s

hichkok12 [17]
The toast at this setting will always be the same color because the toaster uses a compensating thermostat. Depending on the setting, the compensating thermostat will be used to regulate the heat settings at different amounts of time. In one setting, the compensating thermostat could go on for much longer than the other setting before shutting off.

In the equation for the gravitational force between two objects, which quantity must be squared?
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

The distance between the two objects must be squared.

Explanation:

Gravitational force always act between two objects that have mass. The gravitational force is a weak force and attractive in nature.

The force of pull depends on the masses of the two objects and the distance between them.

The formula to calculate gravitational force between two objects having masses 'm' and 'M' and separated by a distance 'd' is given as:

F_g=\frac{GmM}{d^2}

Where, 'G' is called the universal gravitational constant and its value is equal to 6.674\times10^{-11}\ m^3 kg^{-1} s^{-2}.

Now, from the above formula, it is clear that, the force of gravitation is inversely proportional to the square of the distance between the two objects.

Thus, the quantity that must be squared in the equation of gravitational force between two objects is the distance 'd'.

If the fundamental frequency of a musical instrument is 42Hz, what is the frequency of the second harmonic?
timurjin [86]
For the majority of instruments f = n f0 where f is the resonating frequency, n is any whole number and f0 is the fundamental.
This applies to trumpets, violins, flutes and a broad range.
In such a case the first harmonic would be at n=1 and the second harmonic would be at n=2

which gives a frequency of 84 Hz
