<span><span>Lets first solve the first one:</span></span>

<span><span>log<span>(x+9)</span></span>=<span>log<span>(2x−7)</span></span></span>

Convert the logarithmic equation to an exponential equation.

<span><span>10^<span>log<span>(x+9)</span></span></span>=<span>10^<span>log<span>(2x−7)</span></span></span></span>

Remember that <span><span>10^<span>logx</span></span>=x</span>, so

<span>x+9=2x−7</span>

Move values with 'x' to the right hand side.

<span>7+9=2x-x</span>

Combine like terms.

<span>16=x so,</span>

<span>x=16</span>

Check:

<span><span>log<span>(x+9)</span></span>=<span>log<span>(2x−7)</span></span></span>

If <span>x=16</span>

<span><span>log<span>(16+9)</span></span>=<span>log<span>(2<span>(16)</span>−7)</span></span></span>

<span><span>log25</span>=<span>log<span>(32−7)</span></span></span>

<span><span>log25</span>=<span>log25</span></span>

<span>x=16</span> is a solution.

Solve the second one like i solved this one, try it

A 13.5-meter ladder leans against a brick wall and the ladder makes a 75∘ with the wall. The distance d the ladder goes up the w
Alex73 [517]

Answer:

3.5 m

Step-by-step explanation:

Use Pythagorean theorem to find the distance (d) the distance goes up the wall = adjacent to the angle 75° that is formed with the wall.

Length of ladder = the hypothenuse = 13.5 m

Thus, we would use:

Cos75 = adjacent/hypothenuse

Cos 75 = d/13.5

Multiply both sides by 13.5

13.5*cos(75) = d

13.5*0.2588 = d

3.4938 = d

d ≈ 3.5 m (nearest tenth)

How do you solve break even problems?
Mandarinka [93]
A break even problem is found when you calculate starting a buisieness
so lets ssay you have to buy 3 coppy machines and each machine costs 2000 dollars,
the people who want to use your coppy machines have to pay $0.40 per page
so you have spent 6000 dollars already
when you break even, it is when your earnings equals your expenditure (how much you earned equals how much you paid)
