3 ( g + 5 ) − 3 ( g + 6 ) =

3g + 15 - 3g - 18

The numbers before the parentheses are multiplied by numbers Inside parentheses

And :

3g - 3g -18 + 15= - 3

3g - 3g are symmetrical and destroy each other

- 3

distribute each bracket, multiplying the terms in the bracket by the value outside the bracket.

= 3g + 15 - 3g - 18 → ( collect like terms)

=(3g - 3g) + (15 - 18) = 0 + ( - 3) = - 3

Answer:

x = -\frac{3}{2} or x = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the zero product property, first step is to set the given equation, 2x^2 + x - 1 = 2 , to zero. Then factorise the left side.

Thus,

2x^2 + x - 1 = 2

Subtract 2 from both sides

2x^2 + x - 1 - 2 = 2 - 2

2x^2 + x - 3 = 0

Factorise the left side

2x^2 + 3x - 2x - 3 = 0

x(2x + 3) - 1(2x + 3) = 0

(x - 1)(2x + 3) = 0

Find the solution

x - 1 = 0

Or

2x + 3 = 0

x = 1

Or

2x + 3 = 0

2x = -3

x = -\frac{3}{2}

The answer is: x = 1 or x = -\frac{3}{2}

Answer:

The shorter base is 3

Step-by-step explanation:
