Answer:

The maximum value of P is 34 and the minimum value of P is 0

Step-by-step explanation:

we have the following constraints

x+y \leq 6 ----> constraint A

2x+3y \leq 16 ----> constraint B

x\geq 0 ----> constraint C

y\geq 0 ----> constraint D

Solve the feasible region by graphing

Using a graphing tool

The vertices of the feasible region are

(0,0),(0,5.33),(2,4),(6,0)

see the  attached figure

To find out the maximum and minimum value of the objective function P, substitute the value of x and the value of y for each of the vertices in the objective function P, and then compare the results

we have

P=5x+6y

For (0,0) ----> P=5(0)+6(0)=0

For (0,5.33) ----> P=5(0)+6(5.33)=31.98

For (2,4) ----> P=5(2)+6(4)=34

For (6,0) ----> P=5(6)+6(0)=30

therefore

The maximum value of P is 34 and the minimum value of P is 0

Question 19 Only, Please show your work.<br><br> Solve the problem.
ankoles [38]

Answer:

5\sqrt{2}

Step-by-step explanation:

Draw a diagonal (line segment from one corner to the opposite corner).  You'll form two right triangles with the diagonal being the hypotenuse of both triangles.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem:  (leg)^2 + (leg)^2 = (hypotenuse)^2.

Let  h  represent the length of the hypotenuse.

h^2 = 5^2+5^2\\h^2=25 + 25\\h^2 =50\\h=\sqrt{50}\\h=5\sqrt{2}

The question is just a bit vague. It should say opposite corners.  I'm assuming the question does not mean the length of one side!

Please Fill in the Blank with the simplified equation. 5/8g=40
FinnZ [79.3K]

Multiply both sides by 8

5/8g × 8 = 40× 8

5g = 320

Divide both sides by 5

5g/5 = 320/5

G = 64
