When water vapor is cooled, it re-forms into water droplets. Why does this represent a conservation in mass?

Chemistry

Explanation:

According to the conservation of mass, mass can neither be created nor it can be destroyed. But it can only be changed from one form to another.

For example, H_{2}O(l) \rightleftharpoons H_{2}O(g)

During this change only state of water is changing from liquid to gas and gas to liquid and no change in mass is taking place.

As mass of liquid water = (2 + 16) g/mol = 18 g/mol

Mass of water vapor = (2 + 16) g/mol = 18 g/mol

Hence, this shows that when water vapors are cooled then it changes into liquid state of water without causing any change in mass as mass is conserved.

It represents a conservation in mass because the actual mass of water isn’t changing. The relationship between the molecules and the density of the water is. There is still the same amount of mass.

A tank contains 90 kg of salt and 2000 L of water. Pure water enters a tank at the rate 6 L/min. The solution is mixed and drain
sashaice [31]

Answer:

a) 90 kg

b) 68.4 kg

c) 0 kg/L

Explanation:

Mass balance:

-w=\frac{dm}{dt}

w is the mass flow

m is the mass of salt

-v*C=\frac{dm}{dt}

v is the volume flow

C is the concentration

C=\frac{m}{V+(6-3)*L/min*t}

-v*\frac{m}{V+(6-3)*L/min*t}=\frac{dm}{dt}

-3*L/min*\frac{m}{2000L+(3)*L/min*t}=\frac{dm}{dt}

-3*L/min*\frac{dt}{2000L+(3)*L/min*t}=\frac{dm}{m}

-3*L/min*\int_{0}^{t}\frac{dt}{2000L+(3)*L/min*t}=\int_{90kg}^{m}\frac{dm}{m}

-[ln(2000L+3*L/min*t)-ln(2000L)]=ln(m)-ln(90kg)

-ln[(2000L+3*L/min*t)/2000L]=ln(m/90kg)

m=90kg*[2000L/(2000L+3*L/min*t)]

a) Initially: t=0

m=90kg*[2000L/(2000L+3*L/min*0)]=90kg

b) t=210 min (3.5 hr)

m=90kg*[2000L/(2000L+3*L/min*210min)]=68.4kg

c) If time trends to infinity the  division trends to 0 and, therefore, m trends to 0. So, the concentration at infinit time is 0 kg/L.

What would happen to the sup- ply of ATP in your cells if you did not eat enough carbohydrates? How would this affect your cells
harina [27]

Answer:

ATP supply will reduced or decrease drastically

Explanation:

ATP will reduced because carbohydrates are energy given food. Chemical energy are in carbohydrates, therefore when the undergo digestion i.e breakdown of larger pieces into smaller pieces, it is broken down into glucose i.e energy is released. Therefore, if there is now carbohydrates, ATP supply will reduced and there won't be energy needed for different cellular metabolic activities. The breakdown of carbohydrate supply energy.
