A roller-coaster car has a mass of 1080 kg when fully loaded with passengers. As the car passes over the top of a circular hill

of radius 16 m, its speed is not changing. (a) At the top of the hill, what is the normal force (using the negative sign for the downward direction) FN on the car from the track if the car's speed is v = 7.6 m/s? (b) What is FN if v = 17 m/s? Use g=9.81 m/s^2.

Answer:

(a): The normal force on the car  from the track when the car's speed is v= 7.6 m/s  is  FN= -6696 N.

(b): The normal force on the car from the track when the car's speed is v= 17 m/s is FN= 8912.7 N.

Explanation:

m= 1080 kg

r= 16m

v1= 7.6 m/s

v2= 17 m/s

g= 9.81 m/s²

v1= w1*r

w1= v1/r

w1= 0.475 rad/s

ac1= w1² * r

ac1= 3.61 m/s²

FN= m * (ac1 - g)

FN= -6696 N    (a)

-----------------------------------------------------

v2= w2*r

w2= v2/r

w2= 1.06 rad/s

ac2= w2² * r

ac2= 18.06 m/s²

FN= m * (ac2 - g)

FN= 8912.7 N    (b)

What is the approximate amount of thrust you need to apply to the lander to keep it's velocity roughly constant
earnstyle [38]

The approximate amount of thrust(force) you need to apply to the lander to

keep its velocity roughly constant is zero.

<h3>What is Newton's second law of motion?</h3>

Newton's second law of motion states that the acceleration the force acting

on the object is directly proportional to its rate of change of momentum.

F = m a

If the object is moving with uniform velocity, it simply means that the

acceleration is zero, and  the corresponding force will also be zero.

Why does the area around the equator stay about the same temperature year round?
Verdich [7]
Axial Tilt and Sun Energy

This axial tilt means that during the Earth's journey around the sun the poles receive varying amounts of sunlight. The equator, however, receives relatively consistent sunlight all year. The consistency of energy means the equator's temperature stays relatively constant all year.

Fg =G m1m2/r2 solver for G
Blababa [14]

G = \frac{F_{g} r^{2}  }{m_{1} m_{2}  }

Explanation:

 Solving for G simply implies that we make G the subject of the formula:

  Given equation:

               F_{g} = G \frac{m_{1}  m_{2} }{ r^{2} }

 To make G the subject of this expression follow these steps:

            Multiply both sides of the equation by r^{2}

     F_{g} x r^{2} = G \frac{m_{1}  m_{2} }{ r^{2} } x r^{2}

      This gives:

                F_{g}  r^{2} = G m_{1}  m_{2}

    Multiply both sides by \frac{1}{m_{1} m_{2} }

  F_{g}  r^{2}  x   \frac{1}{m_{1} m_{2} } =  \frac{1}{m_{1} m_{2} } x G m_{1}  m_{2}

  Therefore:

                G = \frac{F_{g} r^{2}  }{m_{1} m_{2}  }
