When Working with ratios we have to be VERY careful because you HAVE to put the numbers for the ratio in the way it says. If you change the order than your changing the answer. Ratio's can be written in 3 different ways. Like this:-

a to b
a:b
\frac{a}{b}

Now lets solve out to see how many girls there are in the class.

30 students in total
16 boys
? girls

30 - 16 = 14
14 girls

CHECK OUR WORK:-

14 + 16 = 30
We were RIGHT!!

OK now d real question.

Boys = 16
Girls = 14
Total Students:- 30

A. Girls to boys

So this would look like:-
Girls:Boys
14:16

B. Boys to girls

So this would look like:-
Boys:Girls
16:14

C. Girls to all students

So this would look like:-
Girls:All students
14:30

D. Boys to all students

So this would look like:-
Boys:All students
16:30

So,
A. is 14:16.
B. is 16:14.
C. is 14:30.
D. is 16:30.

Hope I helped ya!!

<h2>Alex accidentally forgot to stock up on toilet paper before the stay-at-home order. Now he has to buy toilet paper on the black market. Though the price of toilet paper on the black market has mostly stabilized, it still varies from day to day. The daily price of a generic brand 12-pack, X, and the daily price of a generic brand 6-pack, Y, (in rubles) jointly follow a bivariate normal distribution with: </h2><h2>μx = 2,470, σx = 30, μy = 1,250, σ = 25, p = 0.60. </h2><h2>(a) What is the probability that 2 (two) 6-packs cost more than 1 (one) 12-pack? To qualify for a police academy, candidates must score in the top 10% on a general abilities test. The test has a mean of 200 an
kolbaska11 [484]

Answer:

z = 1.28 < a - 200/20

And if we solve for a we got

a = 200 + 1.28 * 20 = 225.6

So the value of height that separates the bottom 90% of data from the top 10% is 225.6.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let X the random variable that represent the scores of a population, and for this case we know the distribution for X is given by:

X ~ N (200,20)

For u = 200 and o = 20

For this case we can use the z score in order to solve this problem, given by this formula:

Z = x-u/o

For this part we want to find a value a, such that we satisfy this condition:

P (X > a) = 0.1 (a)

P (X < a) = 0.9 (b)

Both conditions are equivalent on this case. We can use the z score again in order to find the value a.

As we can see on the figure attached the z value that satisfy the condition with 0.9 of the area on the left and 0.1 of the area on the right it's z=1.28. On this case P(Z<1.28)=0.9 and P(z>1.28)=0.1

If we use condition (b) from previous we have this:

P ( X < a) = P (X-u/o < a - u/o) = 0.9

P (z < a-u/o) = 0.9

But we know which value of z satisfy the previous equation so then we can do this:

z = 1.28 < a - 200/20

And if we solve for a we got

a = 200 + 1.28 * 20 = 225.6

So the value of height that separates the bottom 90% of data from the top 10% is 225.6.

A building is constructed using bricks that can be modeled as right rectangular prisms with a dimension of 7\frac{3}{4}7
Neko [114]

The cost of 800 bricks having dimensions of 7\frac{3}{4} \ by\  3\frac{1}{2} \ by \ 2\frac{1}{2} at a cost of $0.07 per in.³ is <u>$3,797.5</u>

<h3>How can the cost of 800 bricks to be used for the building be found?</h3>

The dimensions of the brick are;

\mathbf{7\frac{3}{4} \ by\  3\frac{1}{2} \ by \ 2\frac{1}{2}}

Cost of a cubic inch of brick = $0.07

The volume of 1 brick is therefore;

Volume \ of  \ 1 \ brick \ V_1= 7\frac{3}{4} \ \times \  3\frac{1}{2} \ \times  \ 2\frac{1}{2} = \mathbf{67\frac{13}{16}}

The volume occupied by 800 bricks is therefore;

Volume \ of  \ 800 \ bricks \ V_{800} = 67\frac{13}{16} \times 800 =\mathbf{ 54250}

Given that the dimensions of the bricks are in inches, the volume of 800 bricks is therefore;

V₈₀₀ = 54,250 in.³

The cost of 800 bricks is therefore;

Total cost = 54,250 in.³ × $0.07 = $3,797.5

The cost of 800 bricks is <u>$3,797.5</u>
