They had to pay $75 just to use the table, before they ever sold a basket.
How many baskets do they have to sell to earn that $75 back ?

Each basket costs them $12 to make, and they sell it for $20.
So every time they sell a basket, they earn (20 - 12) = $8 .

How many times do they have to earn $8 in order to earn back the $75 ?

1 basket . . . . . . 1 x $8 = $  8 . . . . . not enough
2 baskets . . . . . 2 x $8 = $16 . . . . . not enough
3 baskets . . . . . 3 x $8 = $24 . . . . . not enough
4 baskets . . . . . 4 x $8 = $32 . . . . . not enough
5 baskets . . . . . 5 x $8 = $40 . . . . . not enough.
6 baskets . . . . . 6 x $8 = $48 . . . . . not enough
7 baskets . . . . . 7 x $8 = $56 . . . . . not enough

8 baskets . . . . . 8 x $8 = $64 . . . . . not enough

9 baskets . . . . . 9 x $8 = $72 . . . . . ooh so close, but not quite enough

10 baskets . . . . 10 x $8 = $80 . . . That's it !
                                                             Finally, they earned back the $75,
                                                             and they're $5 ahead of all of
                                                             their expenses.

In AABC, MZA = 16°, mZB = 49°, and<br> a = 4. Find c to the nearest tenth.
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

  (c)  13.2

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of angles in a triangle is 180°, so angle C is ...

  C = 180° -A -B

  C = 180° -16° -49° = 115°

The measure of side c can be found from the Law of Sines:

  c/sin(C) = a/sin(A)

  c = a·sin(C)/sin(A) = 4·sin(115°)/sin(16°)

  c ≈ 13.2

In one year, Michael earned $6300 as a work study in college. He invested part of the money at 9% and the rest at 7%. If he rece
Nitella [24]
Let x represent invested money at 9% and y at 7%
Now we write system:
x+y = 6300
1.09*x + 1.07* y = 6300 + 493 = 6793

1.09x + 1.09y = 6867
Here we multiplied first equation with 1.09 and now we will subtract second from first:

0.02y = 74
y = 3700
x = 6300-3700 = 2600

Michael invested 2600 at 9% and 3700 at 7%
