The setting which would allow us to observe a specimen with the highest possible magnification is the Objective 10x Ocular 10x.

Explanation:

To observe a specimen with the highest possible magnification is the magnification needed to be the maximum. To gain such a magnification, magnification power of objective and magnification power of ocular or eye lens will be required together at max being the product. Because,

Magnification of object = magnification by ocular lens x magnification by objective lens.

Thereby, among the option, when the magnification power of objective lens is 10X and that of ocular lens is 10X, together will produce a magnification of 100X.

Which best blocks X-ray particles and can therefore be observed more closely through the use of this technology?
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

The correct answer would be bones.

X-rays are high energy electromagnetic waves which have an ability to penetrate most of the biological tissues.

In the X-ray machine, a beam of high energy X-rays is passed through the filters and subject and then fall on the detector or photographic film to produce X-ray.

Dense tissues like bone, teeth, tumors et cetera blocks or stops most of the X-ray particles from reaching the detector or photographic film.

It forms glowing pictures on the X-ray film or photographic film.

The denser the material the brighter the image will be formed on the photographic film.

What is the theory of natural selection, and why does it occur in an organism? Give an example.
BlackZzzverrR [31]

Answer:

It occurs in organisms because an organism with a beneficial trait/mutation have a higher chnace of surviving compared to organisms that do not. So the organsims that do survive pass on their genes to the next generation, and the bext generation will pass on those genes to the generation after and so on. But all the organisms that do not possess a beneficial trait/mutations will not survive, therefore they cannot reproduce and pass on those genes to their offspring. This means that most of the population will posses that trait/mutation.

Example: Spotted moths camouflage with bark so they are seen by predators and eaten. Black moths are easily seen by predators and are eaten. Spotted moths then pass on their genes to the next generation of moths.
