1) The probability of getting a queen is 187/10000 which is 0.0187 = 1.87%

2) The probability is 449 / 479 which is 0.937 = 93.7%

You may need to round the answers. It doesn't say if they need to be rounded or not.

Hi ShadowHawk,

1) If you conduct an experiment and randomly pull a card from a deck of cards 10,000 times, getting a Queen of Hearts 187 times, what is the experimental probability of drawing a Queen of Hearts the next time?

187/10,000 = 1.87% = 1.9%

2) If a kicker has kicked a ball 479 times for the extra point and scored the point 449 times, what is the experimental probability of the kicker making the next field?

449/479 = 93.7% = 94%

Hollis and Charmaine are curious about which mode of transportation gets them from their apartment to the mall faster. Hollis ta

<span>Hollis travels 0.05 miles per minute faster than Charmaine. First, convert to the same units for both Hollis and Charmaine. So Hollis takes 18.5 minutes and Charmaine takes 0.5*60 = 30 minutes. Both girls travel 2.4 miles, so calculate how many miles per minute each takes Hollis = 2.4 / 18.5 = 0.13 miles per minute. Charmaine = 2.4 / 30 = 0.08 miles per minute. Finally determine the difference in speed between the two girls. 0.13 - 0.08 = 0.05 miles per minute.</span>

What is the effect on the graph of the function f(x) = x when f(x) is replaced with -1/2 f(x)?
inn [45]

Answer:

The correct option is B.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given function is

f(x)=x

The new function is

g(x)=-\frac{1}{2}f(x)

g(x)=-\frac{1}{2}x        .... (1)

It is in the form of

g(x)=mx                   .... (2)

Where, m is a constant.

If m is negative, then there is a vertical reflection over x-axis. If the constant is greater than 1, we get a vertical stretch and  if the constant is between 0 and 1, we get a vertical compression.

From (1) and (2), we get

m=-\frac{1}{2}

Since the value of m is negative and absolute value of m is between 0 and 1, therefore the graph g(x) shows the vertical reflection over x-axis and vertical compression.

Option B is correct.

Y ( x + w ) = c ( x + z )
ycow [4]

The formula for x in terms of other terms in the equation is; x = (cz-yw)/(y-c).

<h3>What is the formular for x in term of other terms in the equation?</h3>

According to the task content, it follows that the variable X is to be made the subject of the formula;

Hence, it follows that;

y ( x + w ) = c ( x + z )

yx +yw = cx +cz

x(y-c) = (cz-yw)

x = (cz-yw)/(y-c)

Remarks: The complete question requires that x be made the subject of the formula.
