➷ 40 inches = 3.33333

Area = length x width

Substitute the values:

Area = 9 x 3.33333

Solve:

Area = 30ft^2

Area = length times width (l x w)

Length = 9 feet

Width = 40 inches

Convert the length of 9 feet to inches

9 x 12 = 108

Length = 108 inches

Width = 40 inches

Multiply them together to find the area.

108 x 40 = 4,320

Now convert them back to feet to because that is what the question is asking you to do.

4,320/12 = 360ft^2

The answer is a, 360ft^2
