What is the difference in forces and displacement when comparing positive and negative work?
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

Explanation:

Work is the product of force and displacement.  Work is positive if force and displacement moves in the same direction. Work is negative if force and displacement moves in opposite direction.  Take for example, a load is to move from point A to point B in the forward direction. if you apply force on the load from point A to B work done on the load is positive. If it happens that the force you apply is to the opposite direction, the work done will be negative.

If you have ever used a compass, you know that it can be used to help navigate. It does this with a needle that always points no
Liula [17]

Answer:

Option C.

It is due to the influence of the earth's magnetic field.

Explanation:

  • Earth has its own magnetic field. So it can easily interact with other magnetic elements.
  • So for balancing the alignment of magnet, a compass always points towards north.
  • The north pole of magnet is attracted towards the south portion of earth's magnetic field. So the compass pointing to the north is in fact the south magnetic pole representing earth's geomagnetic character.
  • This geomagnetic property of earth is due to the constant movement of charged particles and circulating electric current.
