Hi there!

If you divide both the numerator (top number) and the denominator (bottom number) by 5, you'll be able to get your simplified fraction.

Why? Because 5 is their greatest common factor (GCF), which is the greatest factor that divides both numbers.

5 ÷ 5 = 1

10 ÷ 5 = 2

The reduced fraction to its lowest fraction is : \frac{1}{2}

There you go! I really hope this helped, if there's anything just let me know! :)

5/10 in the lowest fraction is 1/5

The decimal form is 0.5 if you need it

You should use the website Math wa* it helps you will a lot with math only but if you have to pay to see how the computer shows it work and steps to the answer but the answer is free just put the question and you get the answer. It is never wrong I've been using it for 4 years.

*=y so, the * is y at the end of the word

SOLVE THE EQUATION 2X - 4 = 16
vladimir1956 [14]

Answer:

x = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

2x - 4 = 16 try to get x on the left side, and the integers on the right

You then get:

2x = 20

Now, divide by 2 on both sides

2x/2 = 20/2

x = 10

Algebra I

  • Terms/Coefficients
  • Solving systems of equations using substitution/elimination

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Define Systems

x - 2y = 12

5x + 3y = -44

Step 2: Rewrite Systems

x - 2y = 12

  1. [Multiplication Property of Equality] Multiply everything by -5:                  -5x + 10y = -60

Step 3: Redefine Systems

-5x + 10y = -60

5x + 3y = -44

Step 4: Solve for y

Elimination

  1. Combine 2 equations:                                                                                   13y = -104
  2. [Division Property of Equality] Divide 13 on both sides: y = -8

Step 5: Solve for x

  1. Define original equation:                                                                               x - 2y = 12
  2. Substitute in y:                                                                                                x - 2(-8) = 12
  3. Multiply:                                                                                                           x + 16 = 12
  4. [Subtraction Property of Equality] Subtract 16 on both sides: x = -4
