In the slope intercept form, or y = mx + b, m represents the slope, and b represents the y-intercept.

To solve for b, you just have to replace x and y in the formula with the given coordinates and replace m with the calculated value.

For example, you have to find the equation of a line with the coordinate points (1, -2) and (6, 5). Replace one set of ordered pairs in the slope intercept formula.

Graph both of the coordinate points in a coordinate plane, or a graph, to find it's slope. Use rise over run. Simply count how many points it takes to go the other ordered pair.

The slope of (1, -2) and (6, 5) is 7/5.

If you found the slope, plug those numbers in.

I used (1, -2). I plugged in the slope.
-2 = 7/5(1) + b

You just have to solve for b by simplifying the equation.

The answer is:
__________
b = y − mx .
__________
Explanation:
__________
Given:
__________
y = mx + b ;
_________
We want to isolate "b" on one side of the equation to solve for "b".
_______________________
→ y = mx + b ; Subtract "mx" from BOTH sides of the equation; to isolate "b" one side of the equation; and solve for "b":
____________________________________
y = mx + b → y − mx = mx + b − mx ;
____________________________________
                  → y − mx = b ; ↔ b = y − mx
____________________________________
                  → b = y − mx .

Nookie1986 [14]

Answer: x+8=20

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Equation is \frac{x}{2}+4=10

Mila uses the first step as multiplication to make the coefficient of x, 1

Mila maybe have multiplied the whole equation by 2 i.e.

\Rightarrow 2\left(\dfrac{x}{2}+4=10\right)\\\\\Rightarrow x+8=20

The GDP and the years illustrated will be:

  • 2016 = $149208.6
  • 2017 = $157150.1
  • 2018 = $161284.3
  • 2019 = $161335.3
  • 2020 = $144422.1

<h3>What is Gross domestic product?</h3>

It should be noted that the gross domestic product simply means the monetary value of the overall economic activity in a country.

The gross domestic product and their corresponding years have been given.

The business cycle that was illustrated showed that there was a gradual expansion before getting to the peak where recession sets in

Also, the short run Philips curve is illustrated as there's a trade off between inflation and unemployment.

On a particular map, 3 inches on the map equates to 10 miles in real life. If you know that the real-life distance between two b
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

15\dfrac{39}{40} $ inches

Step-by-step explanation:

On the map, 3 inches = 10 miles in real life.

Therefore:

10 miles: 3 Inches

1$ miles rep $ \dfrac{3}{10}$ inches

If the real-life distance between two buildings is 53.25 miles

Distance on the map

\dfrac{3}{10}$ X 53.25 inches\\=15.975 inches

=15\dfrac{39}{40} $ inches

The distance between the two buildings on the map is therefore: 15\dfrac{39}{40} $ inches
