The most important step in beginning a new exercise program is taking the initiative to do it and to stick to it. Exercise is about your own health and well being and it should solely be focused upon what you want to get out of it. Finding friends who like to exercise the same way you do can motivate you but if you don't have the motivation in yourself in the first place then you will not stick to any exercise program.
