6 9/12 + 6 9/12 = 12 and 18/12 = 13 and 6/12 or 13 and 1/2.
13 1/2 + 4 8/12 = 13 6/12 + 4 8/12 = 17 and 14/12 = 18 2/12 or 18 and 1/6.
Let x be this number 10% of the number x is (10%)(x) → 0.1x
Then 10% of a number x, added to that number is (1.1x):
x + 0.1x = x(1+0.1) = x(1.1) = 1.1x
