The lines appear to be parallel. We can check this out by examining the
two equations, and we see that sure enough, both lines have the same
slope (1/2) so they're definitely parallel.  Parallel lines never intersect,
so this pair of equations has NO solutions.  NONE.  Zero. Bubkes. Nada.

The diameter of your bicycle wheel is 20 inches. How far will you move in one turn of your wheel?
Helen [10]
To do this,  You must know the formula.  D=3.14l*r  Or,  Distance=3.14length*revolutions
3.14 is pi.
Revolutions are the turns of a wheel.
Plug in your numbers.  D=3.14*20*1
D=62.8 inches

Use the Discriminant to describe the roots of each equation. Then select the best description.
TiliK225 [7]
The discriminant is the part under the sqrt in the quadratic formula
for ax²+bx+c, the discriminant is b²-4ac

if the discriminant is
less than 0, then there are non-real roots
equal to 0, then there is a double root
greater than 0, then there are 2 real roots (may be rational or irrational)

so

1x²-5x+7

b²-4ac=(-5)²-4(1)(7)=25-28=-3
less than 0 so it is non real roots

answer is D

Mandarinka [93]

3-(x+1)=3-x-1

(+3)-(x+1)

(+3)-1(x+1)

Distribute the -1 to (x+1)

(+3)-1x-1
