Immigration, on the other hand, is when outside member of different population come into another population.

Meristems are classified on the basis of their location in the plant:

  1. Apical meristem - these are the meristems located at root and shoot tips of the plant.
  2. Lateral meristem - these are the meristems located in the vascular and cork cambia in plants.
  3. Intercalary meristems - these are the meristems located at internodes, or stem regions between the places at which leaves attach, and leaf bases.

Result: There are 3 types of meristems.
