[The tape] was used for all sorts of mending and attaching jobs, . . . and the notorious stubbornness with which it hid its end

and tore diagonally off the roll were accepted by users as just the way the tape was. . . . But inventors and tinkerers like Drew saw each shortcoming as a challenge for improvement. . . . Difficulties in getting Scotch tape off the roll, for example, prompted the development of a dispenser with a built-in serrated edge to cut off a piece squarely and leave a neat edge handy for the next use. —The Evolution of Useful Things, Henry Petroski What drove improvements to Scotch® tape in the passage?

Complete each sentence by selecting the correct pronoun.
Nutka1998 [239]

Answer:

Denny and I love to ride our bikes around the park.

I is used when the person narrating is the subject of the sentence i.e. are the ones performing an action. As both Denny and the narrator are performing the act, they are both subjects and I should be used.

Both of us are planning to watch a superhero movie on Sunday.

Use the pronoun us when Both of has been written because it will then show that the action is being undertaken by the 2 people.

We can't go the pool now because they have closed.

Use they when referring to a noun that is the subject of the sentence in plural. The subject here would be the pool owners who would have closed.

The Call of the Wild draws heavily on Jack London's own experience during the Klondike Gold Rush. Consider the following questio
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

What it would be like to live in a society without rules would be dangerous is basically the no rules part. Considering how humans are there would be a lot of violence going on and it'd be dangerous to live. My character would feel more than likely like the saying "keep your enemies close and your friends closer." as a life motto. She'd feel like she wouldn't be able to trust any one and to always watch her back. I'm just gonna name her Terra because why not. She would be clever and cunning because in a world like that you'd have to be. Terra would expect everyone to live like "Every man for himself" in a world like that. Terra would be very independent and she'd be a good runner. You know just in case she steals something she could get away very easily. An she might have a little brother who she looks out for. I'll name him Tommy. Tommy is 10. He feels safe when with his sister Terra and expects things to get better eventually.
