Answer:

Carla lives 16 miles from the Library.

The mistake is drawng the diagram incorrectly and using the miles given in the wrong places. The student's diagram has Yuri in a place that's Southwest of the Library in the diagram given

Step-by-step explanation:

If Yuri lives 24 miles SOUTH of the library, the "b" side of the triangle should be 24, with the Library at the top and Yuri at the bottom left, which is the west end of the base. The base "a" of the triangle should extend 10 to the right (East in compas directions) forming the right angle. Carla lives at the sharp southeast corner of the triangle, and the Hypotenuse "c" from her house to the Library is the distance we have to figure.

c² =a² + b²

c² = 10² + 24²

c² = 100 + 576

c² = 676

√c² = √676

c = 26 Carla lives 26 miles from the Library.

ed is using the recipe shown to make fruit salad he wants to use 30 diced stawberries in his vruit sald how many bananas apples
Leya [2.2K]
We know that 1 serving = 4 bananas
3 apples
6 pears
and 20 strawberrys
To get 30 we need to half 20 =10 20+10=30

That means we also needs to half the other ones
1/2 of 4 = 2   4+2=6
1/2 of 3 = 1.5 3+ 1.5=4.5
1/2 of 6 = 3  6+3=9

6 Bananas
4.5 Apples
9 Pears
30 strawberries diced.

Enter below an equation that describes the hanger:
Murljashka [212]

Answer:

I think it's 7=2x+3

Step-by-step explanation:

The diagram shows a balanced set of 2 sides, meaning that both sides equal each other. I assume you don't know what x is, so the simplest you can do to combine all three parts of the left side of the diagram is 2x+3, which of course equals 7, the right side.

I'm not the best at explaining, but I hope that helps.

12 yo
5 yd
what is the length of the hypotenuse
Allushta [10]

I'm sure that the hypotenuse is 13 yards

Here's the formula used:

Length of Hypotenuse² = Length of side 1² + Length of side 2²

So here's how to solve this question:

12 squared + 5 squared = hypotenuse

(Then square the values)

144 + 25 = 169

Divide 169 by the square root to get the length of the hypotenuse: 13

Hope this helps!
