Answer:

OptionB is right

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that an ellipse centered at the origin with vertices (8,0) and (-8,0) and a minor axis length of 8

Since centre is at the origin, its equation would be of the form

\frac{x^2}{a^2}+\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1

Since vertices are (8,0) and (-8,0) we find that a=8

Minor axis length = 2b =8 (given)

So b =4

The equation of the ellipse would be

\frac{x^2}{8^2}+\frac{y^2}{4^2}=1\\\frac{x^2}{64}+\frac{y^2}{16}=1

Option B is the right answer

The standard form of an ellipse with horizontal major axis as in this problem is:
\frac{ x^{2} }{ a^{2} } + \frac{ y^{2} }{ b^{2} } =1 where
"a" is greater than "b"

the major axis is length of 16 which means  a = 8 and the minor axis length is 8 which means b = 4

the equation then is:   Choice B

Answer:

(1) 820

(2) 1920

Step-by-step explanation:

(1) solving 20 x 41, using associative property.

20 * 41  = (2 x 10) x 41  = 2 x (10 x 41)

             = 20 x 41         = 2 x 410

             = 820              =  820

(2) distribute 32 as 30 + 2 and solve.

     60 x 32

  = 60 x (30 + 2) = 60(30) + 60(2)

                        = 1800 + 120

                        = 1920

A child got 16.67/20 on a test. what is their grade in percent form?
solong [7]

Answer:

83.4% or 83%

Step-by-step explanation:

when trying to find a percent, divide the numerator (# of correct answers) by the denominator (# of total questions possible to get correct)

Which would be 16.67 divided by 20 which equals .8335. Move the decimal point over two placements which would be 83.35. I rounded it up to 83.4. If trying to find a whole number not a decimal it would be 84%. Depending on the grading scale, it would be a B.

andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

216 boys

Step-by-step explanation:

450 students: 20% girls, 80% boys

450*20%=90 girls

450*80%=360 boys

Students having mobile phones: 40% (OF THE 90) girls, 60% (OF THE 360) boys

90*40%=36 girls

360*60%=216 boys

[We honestly don't need to care about the girls without mobile phones as they are only asking how many boys have mobile phones]
