Describe the reflex action

Biology

Answer:

A reflex action is the body's rapid, involuntary response to external stimuli, often used in order to protect it from immediate harm. First, a receptor detects a stimulus, such as a heat source which could burn the skin. A nerve impulse is then passed along the sensory neurone from the receptor to the central nervous system (the spinal cord). The impulse is transferred via a synapse (a gap between two neurones) to a relay neurone within the cord, and then on to a motor neurone via a second synapse. The impulse travels along the motor neurone to an effector (such as a muscle or gland) which brings about the desired response i.e a muscle moving a body part away from the heat source in the burning example .

Reflection in action means to think about or reflect while you are carrying out the activity. It is typical when something is going wrong or you are nervous about something new or out of the ordinary and you cannot help yourself thinking about it, but practitioners rarely formalise the process.

Which description below is an example of sustainability?
Crank

Answer:

Growing new trees to replace old trees

Explanation:

Growing new trees in place of old ones sustains the environment, since trees help circulate oxygen and provide homes and nutrients for animals and other plants.

Any form of mining is bad for the environment and unsustainable in the long run, garbage is the same way, and putting it on land is only slightly better, and switching to other resources doesn't do anything but burn out more resources and does nothing to sustain anything.

Hope this helps :)

The top layer of the brain, responsible for higher-level mental processes, is __________.
romanna [79]

The top layer of the brain, responsible for higher-level mental processes, is the neocortex because the neocortex comprises the largest part of the cerebral cortex, which makes up approximately half of the volume of the human brain. It is responsible for the neuronal computations of awareness, thought, perception, and episodic memory.

Therefore, The neocortex is the top layer of the complex brain that commands higher functions related to the mental processes such as cognition, sensory perception, and emotion. Although the neocortex consists of neuronal cell bodies or grey matter and unmyelinated fibers that surround the deeper white matter in the cerebrum, that helps for higher-level mental processes.
