There is a theorem that said that the ratio of lengths of chords at point  of intersection are the same.
I think the relationship would be X/W  = Y/Z

hope this helps

Answer with explanation:

Following theorems are used when there are segments that is chords are drawn inside the circle

1. Equal chords are equidistant from the center.

2. Perpendicular from the center to the chord bisects the chord.

3. Chord which are larger in length is nearer from the center.

⇒If these two segments are equal in length

 X +W=Z +Y

Otherwise, X+W > Z +Y

There is other relation possible between segment.

Join A, B,C and D.

In Δ AOB and ΔCOD

Angle in the same segment of a circle are equal.

→∠1=∠2

→∠3=∠4

→∠5=∠6------Vertically opposite angle

⇒ Δ AOB ≅ ΔCOD----[AAA similarity]

When triangles are similar their sides are proportional.

    \rightarrow \frac{OA}{OD}=\frac{OB}{OC}\\\\\rightarrow \frac{X}{Z}=\frac{Y}{W}

→X W=Z Y

A and B are dependent events.
The general probabilities of each event to happen separately is 36% for event A and 25% for event B. When considering that Chris passes one before passing the other, indicates that whether he gets the first light open or not will affect if he gets the other one also open or not. This can even be seen by noticing how the probability of Chris getting both red lights is 9%, a much inferior probability then considering both lights separately which means that one event has influence over the other.

X + 2 = 5x solve for x.
ivanzaharov [21]

Answer:

x = 1/2 or 0.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Subtract 2 from both sides of the equation

x + 2 - 2 = 5x -2

Simplify

x = 5x -2

Subtract 5x from both sides of the equation

x = 5x -2

x - 5x = 5x - 2 - 5x

Solution

x = 1/2

Hope this helps!! :))

It takes machine A x hours to manufacture a deck of cards that machine B can manufacture in y hours. If machine A operates alone
nlexa [21]

Answer:

The expression that shows how long the two machines will operate simultaneously is:

\frac{y(100x-z)}{x+y}

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that:

x: hours to manufacture a deck of cards for machine A

y: hours to manufacture a deck of cards for machine B

z: hours that machine A operates alone

The number of decks manufactured only by machine A is:

\frac{z}{x}

So, the remaining decks are given by:

100-\frac{z}{x}=\frac{100x-z}{x}

Then, the combined rate of machines A and B would be:

\frac{1}{x} +\frac{1}{y} =\frac{x+y}{xy}

The work-rate formula is:

Amount= Rate \times Time

Hence, the time that the two machines work simultaneously is:

Time=\frac{Amount}{Rate}

Time=\frac{Amount}{Rate} =\frac{\frac{100x-z}{x} }{\frac{x+y}{xy} } ={\frac{100x-z}{x} \times \frac{xy}{x+y}=\frac{y(100x-z)}{x+y}
