Please Help ASAP. Lionfish are a predatory fish that are commonly kept in home aquaria. However, when people are no longer able

to care for these fish, they often release them into the ocean. This introduces a non-native species into an area where it should not be. Explain how a lionfish population could become quickly established in a new habitat, and how additional predation and competition from lionfish may negatively affect the biodiversity of that habitat.

Since lionfish introduced to the ocean are not native they have very few predators, so they may eat the fish that were previously at the top of the food chain. If that were to happen then these organisms will multiply too quickly and that would lead to an imbalanced ecosystem. Lionfishes are a huge treat for ocean and if left unchecked they can cause the destruction of the reefs and native fish stocks.

IceJOKER [234]
<span>Neutral mutations are neither harmful nor beneficial.

Therefore, they are invisible to natural selection. (Since they neither improve nor worsen one individual's chances of survival and reproduction over another.)

However neutral mutations can still spread into the population by just random replications and matings. This is called genetic drift.

In other words, they are 'silent'. They are mutations that exist and propagate in populations, but seem to have no effect at all.

The reason they can become important to evolution is that a day can come when they *do* have an effect. In other words, even though an individual mutation may have no immediate effect on survival or reproduction, a *combination* of neutral mutations may provide some new benefit or harm ... at which point natural selection *will* act on that combination.

Why does the rate of photosynthesis increase and then reach a plateau as the concentration of co2 around a plant increases?
IrinaVladis [17]
 Answer

Light intensity increases also, but it gets to a point that the temperature increases and denature the enzymes involved so a plateau results.
